2007 2nd Place Midnight Run 8 Dog Pro

Another successful race this season, but it was challenging and well deserved for the dogs. The competition was excellent and taking second to the Galloway's team this year is nothing short of a success. Sharon gained one spot on the ladder during the last leg with 7 dogs in team, but it was not enough for a much stronger team coming up from behind, the Galloway's. There was not a disatisfying performance in this group given some of the circumstances and seeing what your dogs can do under those circumstances was a victory in itself. We are excited about next year!
... Hurricane-2001 (F) (L)
Hurricane ran lead on the first leg and point on the second leg. She was a big help during this race, especially on the second leg. Hurricane has done so well for us and we are proud of her.
... Theoden-2004 (M) (L)
Theo is solid as a rock and a team player! Tough, tough, tough and fast and just a sweetheart. He also showed his resilency potential. Wish he would be a bit more focused in lead. There is still hope, he's a youngster.
... Legolas-2004 (M) (L)
This boy has courage! Ran in lead for the first half of the first leg. Took an injury to the rear end, just came off a bit. Ran the balance of the leg to the checkpoint and after cooling down the injury presented itself. A serious knotted muscle in the hamstring area. He was promptly dropped at that time. Thankfully, at this time it appears to have been no more serious than a muscle cramp in conjunction with a muscle strain. Keep an eye out for him leading our pack in the future.
... Strider-2004 (M) (L)
Strider, another one that showed us his resilency level. Ran point on the first leg and lead on the second leg. Never let up. A great dog he is and will continue to be.
... Elrond-2004 (M) (L)
Elrond ran point on the first leg and lead on the second. He was battling a bug throughout the race, but showed excellent resiliency which we are real excited about. Watch for him in the future leading our pack. Our choice for the next stud if we find a female worthy of breeding.
... Gimli-2004 (M) (L)
Our "Mr. Trooper". Gimli ran a portion of the first leg in lead replacing Legolas who suffered a rear end injury earlier on the trail. Gimli kept Sharon in the game for the first leg and then ran point the second leg. He also showed great resiliency after a challenging first leg.
... Wooly-2002 (M) (L)
Can't phase this dog with any challenge. His veteran ability really showed during this race. Wooly came up a bit tight in the front end (tricep area) after the first checkpoint, but a good massage loosend him up. Finished the race a bit tight again. Just an impressive dog. Not this years choice of stud, but if could do two litters he would have a good chance at sireing one of them.
... Dexter-2004 (M) (L)
Dexter was a team player. Had a tough first leg, but rebounded after the checkpoint and ran like a madmanon the second leg. He is growing up.
