Midnight Run

77 ish miles- 46/31 I was so proud of this team! I hadn't intended to do any checkpoint runs this year so we didn't train camping out or resting. And our shortest turn around on rest was 8-10 hours not 5 1/2. A few bumps in the road but we finished! Just shy of 50 degrees at the finish line which caused the shortened return trip. Driving pack into Marquette the whole trail along the lake was asphalt and water.

Did stellar. Actually slept at the checkpoint amazingly and lead the team into Chatham.
... Cora-2010 (F) (L)
Ran well- didn't feel well about 30 miles in and took a ride in the sled for about 30 minutes. Popped herself back out onto the team and finished strong.
... Zephyr-2010 (M) (L)
My main man. As much as he drives me crazy he is my rock and all around awesome dog. Always loping, always asking for more, and always ready to go. Lead both legs.
... Boo Boo-2013 (F) (L)
Was awesome the whole race. Took her a bit to warm up starting the second leg but once she got going she was all business.
... Thunder-2014 (M)
Ran well- little tired on the 2nd leg in the heat but kept trucking along.
... Rue-2013 (M) (L)
Father: Umbra
Mother: Patera
Did great- tore his pad during a run in with a pet dog on the trail. Finished the first leg but was left on the truck for the 2nd leg.
... Rocky-2015 (M) (L)
Did fantastic! Was the first one barking to go leaving the checkpoint.
... Closer-2014 (M)
Awesome dog- always loping and digging for more.
