2014 13th Place Copper Dog 150

What a fun race!!!! I love this race, the format and trails were awesome! Very deep, competitive field of teams which made it very exciting:) The trails were for the most part in great shape, unbelievable amount of snow in that area wow!!!! Some soft spots on the 2nd leg that the dogs stumbled into in the middle of the trail but thankfully no one was injured from it. 2nd leg was our best run of the race and was fun with all the hills, we placed 7th that day and 13th overall. Very cold with strong winds on the 3rd leg with -40 F windchill, pretty brutal on the exposed ridges of Brockway Mountain. Taking off on the 2nd leg I saw 5 or 6 deer leap onto the road in front of my team and sail over the huge snowbanks like nothing... that was neat to see:) Overall had a great time and can't wait to come back!!!

Lark always does super! Got a sore wrist on the first leg so dropped her from the team. She probably could have ran the 3rd leg but didn't want to take the chance plus she was in standing heat which would have only been a distraction for my male leaders so it was fine she didn't run the 2nd and 3rd legs:)
