  • alt textRidge has a desire to please, is very calm but ready to go when you say the word (for racing, hunting, swimming 1 to 2 miles straight...), he learned and learns very fast, he is very loving, and he is very happy. Ridge has gotten 2nd in one National Championships and seven 1st's in one dog and two dog skijoring. When I roller blade behind him we will get up to 27 mph regularly, for bikejoring we will usually average 22.5 mph to 24.5 mph, and for skijoring we will average 19 mph to 22.5 mph for 4 to 8 miles. He is very focused. He is a great hunting dog with a great nose. He finds birds fast. Many of Ridges siblings and other relatives are on winning teams nationally and internationally. A few of Ridge's best qualities for racing at least is that when he is standing at the start of a race he is very calm and easy to handle and he listens very well. If I were to fall or stop he would stop immediately. He can read my actions very well also.

When I got him he was nine months old and had only been an outside dog, never been on a leash, or in a crate, and he wanted to chase every animal on the planet. I worked very hard with him when I first got him and the first week I had him he knew the difference between his right paw and his left and could shake on command with either one. He learned what a leash was very fast and within a month in a half he could be running across an open field and I could yell out Gee or Haw and he would turn until I said ok straight ahead. Highlights

We won the over all National Championships for one dog and two dog skijoring in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2016. I was sick and didn't race in 2015.

We got 6th at the Winter World Championships and top American in 2013 for one dog skijoring.

We got 6th at the Dryland World Championships and top American in 2015 in the one dog bikejor. The 2nd day of the race we had the 4th fastest time in the World on the trail and now hold the US trail record. In the relay we had the 2nd fastest time in the World out of 16 teams.

We got 9th at the winter World Championships in 2017 in one dog skijoring. We unfortunately did not have a good run.

We have won every one dog and two dog skijor race from 2013 to 2017 5 years (seasons) in a row. We were the top American for 7 years (seasons) in a row 2012 to 2017. We are completely undefeated in the US for one dog and two dog bikejoring for the years 2011 to 2016, 6 years (seasons) in a row. We hold US (top American) trail records all over the Midwest to Alaska and in Canada. We are the only known team to beat the top 4 dog sled team in the US on the same trail in the same day doing one dog skijoring. We also had a World championships that same year confirming that the 4 dog sled team we beat was the fastest in the US that year. There are very few that might have done it with two dogs but I don't know of anyone who had done it with one dog except us.
