2010 Wyoming Ipsssdr Team

It was a tough training season for us and we headed west with 44% of our main team on the injury list. We had several new dogs on the roster we were excited about their athleticism, but they were unknowns. Those dogs wound up performing brilliantly as they took most of the pressure when we had to rest key veteran leaders. There were very tough conditions this year and they team showed some impressive consistency. 6th place overall.
... Pepper-2005 (M) (L)
Pepper stepped up to the plate this year and did a great job. He ran 5 stages and led one. He was as steady in the end as he was in the beginning.
... Mikka-2005 (F) (L)
Mikka ran 5 stages for us. She did not have her best race this year, but gave us everything she had.
... Cracker-2003 (F) (L)
Cracker is our go to girl when we need a crack gee/haw leader. She ran 4 stages for us and did not disappoint.
... Sedona-2006 (F) (L)
The energizer bunny has decided she wants to lead now. An unreal pace setter as long as her sisters aren't in point. She is a key player on this team and brings excitement to the team. Ran 6 stages effortlessly and led one.
... Utah-2006 (M)
Utah powered through 6 stages and was definitly an every day dog we were counting on and he didn't disappoint.
... Cheyenne-2006 (F) (L)
Cheyenne ran 5 stages for us and led 3 of them. She is just a phenom and handlled the pressure of leading in a race for the first time as if it was nothing.
... Vail-2006 (F) (L)
Vail ran 4 stages and led two of the more challenging ones. It was great experience for her and she did a nice job.
... Billy-2003 (M) (L)
Due to the losses our team experienced prior to this race Billy found himself as a key leader. He ran 4 stages, which is completely under utilzing him, but we needed him in lead and had to rest him. He led 3 stages brilliantly and as usual was a top performer on the team.
... Ivan-2004 (M) (L)
What an awesome dog this guy is. We have exceeeded his comfort zone in speed, but he gives 150% everytime he is on the line. He ran 5 tough stages and led one. An invaluable dog everytime you put him on the line.
... Shiner-2005 (M) (L)
Shiner proved that he needs to stick around. He ran 5 stages and led one settinig a great pace. This dog has matured overnight and was a key player this year.
... Bergen-2007 (F) (L)
Bergen came into this race with sore feet from a previous race and we had to protect her. She ran 3 stages for us and gave everything she had. However, we learned her gait is not conducive to the condtions out west and that makes it very tough for her to be a good Stage dog. She is 100% pure honest sled dog, but she will perform best in different condtiions.
... Umea-2007 (F) (L)
Umea came as our spare and wound up on the team at the last minute and thank goodness it happened. This little girl ran 7 stages (more than any dog on the team) and performed like a seasoned veteran. What a special dog she turned out to be.
... Periwinkle-2008 (M)
Boy, did this little guy show up and take the heat. His yearling debut and he ran 6 stages flawlessly. We are so proud of this dog and very excited to see what he will grow into.
... Anker-2004 (M) (L)
Anker ran 6 stages and led two of them. He is relentless and always gives 150% The extra mileage going into this race really showed in Anker's performance this year.
... Epson-2007 (M)
Fluid, fast and never tired. This guy showed up big and ran 5 tough stages for us without a hitch. He eats and drinks like a machine and is just solid!
... Slim Shady-2004 (M)
Slim is an IPSSSDR veteran and proved it with 5 tough stages in point and never missing a beat.
