DIAGNOSES AND DISCUSSION
Knox?s echocardiographic results are stable to mildly improved. The diameter of the left ventricle is very mildly
increased in diastole and systole, as is the left atrium. The results are consistent when compared to multiple
references, including when normalized for Knox?s weight. Knox?s results may be suggestive of an
athletic dog. Furthermore, one has to consider that the Eurohound, or Scandinavian hound, is a cross between
the Alaskan husky and some of the pointers, such as the German or English short-haired pointers. Multiple
breeds, such as the Doberman, boxer, Irish wolfhound, golden retriever, beagle, whippet, greyhound, etc. have
their own reference range. Thus, it is also possible that this breed has their own reference range, which has not
yet been studied. As mentioned above, the results may be further influenced by Knox?s extreme athleticism.
Diagnoses, such as myocarditis and ventricular stretch, were previously excluded with the results of her troponin I
and NT-proBNP blood concentrations, respectively.
In summary, there are no obvious reasons to prevent her from being bred.
