2008 2nd Place Tahquamenon 8 Dog Pro

We had a beautiful run this day. We set a new personal record for this trail. New team member yearling Crash stepped up to the plate and did his job. He is also one of our up and coming leaders.
... Hurricane-2001 (F) (L)
Hurricane ran left point this race. Her motivation and drive was a pleasant surprise. I firmly believe she could have ran lead with the outcome at least the same. She finished with a great attitude.
... Martin-2002 (M)
Martin got the nod this race in wheel position as the usual starter Gimli was assigned to his owner's team, our son Cooper. He also got the nod over next in line, Dexter, who came down with a slight bug a handful of days before the race. Martin is starting to show his inability or unwillingness to break into a lope as much for whatever reason. He didn't hurt our run and was great on the hills, but I feel he would've helped a bit more if he was his usual self from the past years. Anyway, he …
... Theoden-2004 (M) (L)
Theo ran right wheel and had an excellent race. He is one heck of a trooper.
... Legolas-2004 (M) (L)
Legolas ran right point this race. He did a great job also. He was a bit down and out at the finish but understandably so as he did work hard the whole run. He is a very responsive dog in harness.
... Strider-2004 (M) (L)
Just like his brother Elrond, Strider was there doing a great job in lead.
... Elrond-2004 (M) (L)
Elrond ran lead and did a phenominal job. Lot's of courage in this boy.
... Arwen-2004 (F) (L)
Arwen made her debut in the main 8 dog string and did a heck of a job. She's a bit smaller female making 40 lbs but most of it is heart and attitude.
... Crash-2006 (M) (L)
Crash's first race ever,a pro class race. His maturity is awesome for his age and handled the steady speed we were running at on this race with no visable problems. He did appear to come off a bit about 5 miles from the finish for but once he realized we were finishing, maybe a couple of miles out, he came on strong again. Anyway, he got a good race and experience under his belt. He just grew up a bit more.
